Saim was born in Southern California in the year 2002. He graduates in the year 2020. He joined CubeSat in the Spring of 2017. At school, he take advanced classes and wishes to explore the STEM field. His high school experience has just begun where he will be given many more opportunities to explore fields of his interest, but CubeSat is his first. His hobbies outside of school are sleeping, hanging out with friends, and playing video games. 

Kaeshav Chandrasekar, born in Chicago, Illinois, is a sixteen year old Indian, male. Kaeshav was one of the three freshmen accepted onto the Beckman Cubesat team of Irvine01. As he is avidly interested in the STEM fields, he was very enthusiastic about the opportunity to join this team. He has participated on his school's Vex Robotics team and has advanced to the World Championships through first place at the state level. When he heard about this program through his robotics team, he did not hesitate to begin the application to not only learn about STEM, but to also gain an experience of a lifetime.

Justin Chen was born in Southern California, in 2001. Part Beckman High School’s graduating class of 2019, he joined the CubeSat program as a sophomore. Joining his school’s Science Olympiad program, he became fascinated with STEM programs. In addition to STEM, Justin also enjoys business and marketing. Throughout his high school career, Justin has been an honors student who also participates in sports and extracurriculars. He enjoys playing in Beckman’s Chamber Orchestra and is a hurdler on the Varsity Track Team. 

Katie Dao was born in Southern California in 2001. She is apart of the Beckman High School graduating class of 2019. At an early age, she found a love for STEM and was encouraged by her family to pursue it. Joining cubesat has only further grown her interest in STEM. In her high school career, she has been an honor student and an active participant in multiple activities. Katie is a board member on the club, Relay for Life, and is a part of the Beckman volleyball team. She plans to pursue a future in STEM and be an engineer in the future.

Luke Dutta was born in Tustin, California on March 9, 2001. In middle school, he participated with AMC as well as VEX Robotics. During high school, he takes many rigorous courses and actively participates in the Beckman Avionics subdivision of the Irvine CubeSat team. In his spare time, he plays club baseball, hangs out with friends, mods different games, and studies different things about computers. One of his goals is to create a game that can evolve based on player’s choices, which involves machine learning. His biggest goal in life is to be part of a big technological movement that will elevate society even further.

Ashwin Gupta was born in Glendale, California and has lived in Irvine all his life. He is the software lead on Team Avionics, so he works on code that runs on the satellite and on the ground. He was accepted into CubeSat because of his interest in manned space programs. His favorite historical mission is Apollo-Soyuz 1975.

Michael Ho was born in California in 2001.  A senior at Beckman High School, he is an honors/AP student whose participation in STEM activities has included CubeSat, Varsity Math Club, and American Chemical Society Olympiad.  Outside of academics, Michael plays violin in the Beckman High Chamber Orchestra, participates in Model United Nations, and engages in a variety of school clubs and organizations.

David Seo, 17 years old, was born in Incheon, South Korea. He is part of Hardware team in the Beckman High School CubeSat. When he was living in South Korea, he was involved in Robotics club. He later went to China, where he had unique experiences in China. Finally, he came to the United States. He was able to get into CubeSat program with the interests and passions. His hobbies are playing basketball, swimming, playing guitar, listening to music, biking, and hanging out with his friends. His future goal is to “TRULY” help people who are alienated from the world.

Born in 2001 in Orange County, California, Griffin Weaver has always been interested in how things work. He has been a maker from an early age. Currently in his sophomore year at Beckman High School, Griffin participates in CubeSat, robotics, and marching band. During his freshman year, his VEX robotics team won the championships at the regional level, won the Judge’s Award at the state level, and competed in the VEX World Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. Griffin spends his free time modeling in CAD and printing his creations in 3D.

Erik Kanamori was born in the year 2000 in Southern California. He is one of the students in Beckman’s graduating class of 2019. In addition to being a member of CubeSat, Erik also is a member of the Beckman Robotics program, the Link Cru program, the California Scholarship Federation, and is the secretary of Beckman’s Green Ribbon Club. During his free time, Erik enjoys reading, programming, and participating in various extracurriculars, such as soccer and golf. Erik plans to deepen his knowledge in STEM by pursuing a position in the computer science and engineering field.

Ethan was born in Florida in the year 2002. He graduates in the year 2020. He joined CubeSat in the Fall of 2018. At school, he take advanced classes and wishes to explore the STEM field. Outside of academics, he has a large amount of interest in computer science related activities. He has participated in USACO and hit Gold level, and is also currently working with a professor at Stanford for AI research. His other hobbies include competition math and playing League.

Elise Kim was born in 2003, in Santa Cruz, California. At the age of two, she moved to Irvine with her family and has been attending IUSD and TUSD schools. She is currently a sophomore at Arnold O. Beckman High School, and will graduate in 2021. She is part of the school’s CubeSat program, as well as wind ensemble, and has been in the CubeSat program since she was a freshman. Elise has always been interested in STEM, but she is especially interested in airplanes, and plans to major in aeronautics during college.

Eric Ho was born in California in 2004.  Since middle school he has been interested in STEM, having participated in VEX Robotics where he was involved in all aspects including design, building and programing.  He also participated in math and Pentathlon Competitions while at middle school. His interest in STEM reflects his inherent passion to investigate the “how’s” and the “why’s”.  At Beckman High School, his passion in STEM extends to his involvement in CubeSat by contributing to the ongoing work, and being a part of the Math Club and the Computer Science Club.  Aside from his interest in STEM, Eric enjoys music, playing basketball, and participating in Model United Nations outside of school.

Shrishti Dalal was born and raised in California. She is a part of the Beckman High School class of 2022. Shrishti joined CubeSat because she loves learning about anything and everything related to science and math. In middle school, engineering and robotics were her favorite subjects. Outside of STEM activities, she enjoys playing volleyball, running, and traveling. One fun fact about her is that she has been to Switzerland alone. Her typical summer is spent in India catching up with her family. These aspects of her life have exposed her to many things, and have shaped her curiosity in many ways. Other clubs she is a part of this year include, FEM, Key Club, and robotics. She hopes to make the best of her high school experience.

Yael Alonso was born in Santa Ana, California in 2001 in a Spanish speaking home and currently lives in Tustin, California. He will graduate from Beckman High School in the year 2019. Beckman High School has been crucial to his educational development. This was where his love for science and mathematics began to grow. Being surrounded by exemplary teachers and students, as well as programs like CubeSat, he has been able to dip his toe in different areas of mathematics, engineering, and science. He plans to attend UCI in the future and hopes to major in the field of engineering. Being a Hispanic himself, Yael Alonso hopes to encourage other Latinos, as well as students of any race, to not be afraid to go further in their education and see what they are capable of doing for their math and science communities.

An is a junior in Arnold O. Beckman High School and was born in Southern California in 2002. He has been a member of Cubesat for half a year and is extremely interested in the STEM field, but is mostly interested in software. He is in Vex and FRC in addition to Cubesat after school. His main hobbies are playing video games, doing personal software or hardware projects, and sleeping.
